Online would only be the certificate of entry application. For the tourist visa application you to mail your passport and etc to them. Info is here: https://thaiconsulatela.org/en/tourist-visa/

When you do the online certificate of entry application the embassy will forward to the consulate for the state you enter unless you are within their jurisdiction. See: https://www.cognitoforms.com/RoyalThaiEmbassy1/onlineapplication

Visa exempt entries have been approved and should be shown on the embassy and consulate websites this coming week. That might work out good for you to go through the certificate of entry process from the embassy in Peru and start your trip from Ecuador since you would not need a visa.

How would I go through the Lima Peru consulate for my Certificate of Entry? It seems like it's an automated system.  They show nothing about this on their menu.  Maybe I should write them and ask...Thank you.

The allowance for visa exempt entries is new. The have not updated this site yet to show it. https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/

They may have info about it by now at the embassy in Lima. Best to contact them directly about it.

Topic here that has a copy of a announcement on the embassy in Abu Dhabi website.

I would think the embassy in Peru would know about it since those from Peru get a 90 day visa exempt entry under a bilateral agreement.

Thank you. The Lima Embassy just replied with a welcome letter with clear guidelines for the COE process.  They said to write for a visa to Ecuador; but hopefully they'll accept the new visa on entry announcement & I can go without a visa.  Thanks so much.

They will accept a onward flight ticket to anywhere.

The online COE is working. Thanks for helping.  I'd llike to buy an onward ticket to somewhere in SA Asia, Vietnam or Laos.  I'll get to work asap on the Ed visa before that is needed, but I think I have to have an onward ticket.

When did Laos or Vietnam open borders.

AirAsia just one carrier does not even show flights for Vietnam.

Almost all of Asia is closed for entries are closed for entries now.

This map from the IATA has info after clicking on country. https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/international-travel-document-news/1580226297.htm

You best option maybe be a refundable return ticket back to the US.

One option is might be a temporary ticket. See this site for example. https://onewayfly.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5vb-BRCRARIsAJBKc6JLcI435OwYh5Q99o0tZyAjwZ_IVCE2v8zy-mW3MICZxHqZz7Qr6_UaAtqpEALw_wcB

Thanks very much! I'll get a temporary return to Ecuador. I won't touch the US right now.  Very contaminated, & generally out of control (IMO).  But I'll book EC today. Hope Thailand stays open after the local surge & lockdown.  Don't think I can leave much sooner than 3 wks. COE might take 10-14 days to process.

It could be a problem if you have a fever. They check your temperature as part of part of the covid screening.

How many days should I allow for the remainder of the papers that the Thai government'demands?  They each seem pretty time-sensitive, like the fit to fly document & the covid test itself.  Thank you.

The covid 19 test certificate and the fit to fly certificate must be done within 72 hours before your departure flight.

That should be all you need do now since you have the COE.

Anyone have a link that Thailand is/will be closing?  Thanks.

No since has not happened or will happen. The controls they have now are sufficient to prevent people from entering the country by air that are infected with the virus.

Thanks.  Eva air seems to be cancelling flights, but I'll reschedule with another carrier if I must.

EVA has canceled flights due to Taiwan shutting down all transit flights through Taipei.

They are very unlikely to close international flights.  However, before you commit to 2 week quarantine, be aware we currently have a covid outbreak here in Thailand.  Many things are shutting down locally.  Pattaya for example is basically fully shut down with only essential stores open--bars, malls, beaches, pools are closed.    There are also restrictions on travel between some provinces.  It all varies by province whats open, and things are changing daily.

I'm just one of dozens, hundreds of travelers who took a big chance just to get back in. We've all invested in quarantines, hotels, flights. We had to, in order to be authorized to return.

Have you been to the US lately? Or read the news about the peripheral activities taking place with covid, of course, at the heart of things, right next to Mr. T. What about Europe?  I'd suggest global thinking...and some useful guidance. You could call airports or read...

I wasn't sure I'd read that correctly.  So I do need to reschedule.  Thank you. I think I'd start with SFO; I'd better write the Lima office, too.

If you have flights scheduled to transit through Taipei you need to change them.

Info here on EVA's website also. https://www.evaair.com/en-us/about-eva-air/news/travel-news/2020-12-30-transit-services-news.html

Topic here about it as well. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1199110-eva-air-cancelling-transit-service-from-01jan2021/

You will need to have your COE changed to new a new flight schedule and your ASQ hotel reservation. You need to request that through the embassy in Lima.

I was in the process of buying new tickets, part of dealing w/ my quarantine hotel & the COE in Lima, when the Qatar site showed a one line hypertext apology that 'stopovers' for onward flights had been stopped. because the English was unfamiliar (& there was a photo of a tourist sitting on a bed w/ a long explanation about hotel bookings not being visas into the country) I decided that meant long layovers; mine in Doha was 3 hrs. However, I was then unable to finish the payment of my ticket to BKK.  I wonder if Qatar airways has now stopped transit in Doha?  Please advise.  Thanks in advance.

I checked on their website and and entered your passport type and etc and did not get a red flag when using Qatar as a transit point. Check here. https://www.qatarairways.com/en-us/travel-alerts/requirements.html?iid=ALL88789980

Thanks!  But I kept having trouble on their site so finally bought the same ticket from Cheapoair.

Re the 72 hour rule, covid rt pcr test & fit to fly.

The countdown begins from my first international flight (in this case, that’s Guayaquil, Ecuador to Florida & onward to BKK.)  Is this correct?  Thanks!
