Ha.

Less then normal but read the fine print to add cart and caddie fee+(tip).

So, probably close to 1400 to 1500 added to the advertised rate.

I will probably try Waterside have heard good things about it.

for waterside, it is 1350 green fee plus 850 cart plus 450 caddy fee plus 400 tip = 3050 Baht, all incl.

that may be the cheapest fee since ever, and it probably will be for a long time.  Maybe for some people just an occasion to play it once.

Another top course, Laem Chabang International, has probably the best deal you can get: 2059 Baht, for gf, caddy fee and cart, for PSC members on monday.

Thanks yes, I definitely need to get out to Waterside.

I have used their practice facilities (good chipping area) but never played.

I had delusions of grandure that I would retire to Thailand and play golf 3-4 times a week, based on these prices no way I could afford that . I pay 22000 baht ($1100 AUD) per year for membership (green fees), no caddy or buggy fee ( unlimited playing as many times you want ), so playing in Australia much cheaper ! Or are places like Hua hin, other Pattaya courses or courses near Trat (want to live in Koh Chang )cheaper ?  I have heard other countries such as Phillipines, Malaysia,Vietnam are no cheaper !

Koh Chang does not have a 18-hole golf course. So forget Koh Chang if you want to play golf regularly. In Thailand, Pattaya is the best golf destination when you consider the quantity of courses (about 22 within 1 hour) and the level of cost. The 4 Siam courses are top notch and costly. A cheap course may cost you around 1000 Baht (green fee plus caddy fee) on Weekdays and as a Pattaya Sports Club member and does not require a mandatory cart.

The compulsory caddy fee and tip are the killers then there are some courses that have compulsory cart, really shafting the golfers, those courses are best avoided.

Laem Chabang for the 2,000 baht deal is worth playing
