We are in the process to acquire the services for a domestic house cleaner for 1 or 2 days per week. The main duty will be cleaning inside of our house, 3br, 2 bath room, kitchen and tv lounge, ironing.

We are aware that the general rule is to negotiate a price with the prospective employee.

Any suggestions from similar experience in rates payable, daily, hourly and at what tariff?

Thanks

I live in Bangkok and have a lady come in 2 times a week and she does all the cleaning, laundry and ironing. She lives in the carpark in the basement but when her kids come to visit her they take up residence in my maids room. Pay her 5,000 Baht a month and she is worth every satang of it. Live in a condo and she works for the condo and a couple other tenants and makes about 15 K per month total (the other customers are cheapos). I have been told I pay her too much!!.

This subject comes up quite frequently on Thaivisa, there was a thread fairly recently.

Just do a search for "maid wages" on the google search function near the top of this page and you well get all the thoughts and opinions you would want on the subject.
