I dont think you should be bringing up independence after your recent display of total lack of knowledge on the subject.

And you were warned voting for Brexit risked the UK breaking up but you went ahead and did it anyway.

No point crying about it now.

Inner German border. Was a sight to behold. Still gone now after German unification.

Thats another thing the EU has done isnt it. Preserved peace in Europe for 75 years.

The EU has a lot more to lose than the UK...do we have to keep reiterating this...figures don't lie. Where will the EU sell all the goods the UK currently buys?....The UK has the whole world to replace the piddly amount they buy from us.

Yes, we do buy more from the EU than they buy from us.

Quote

The EU, taken as a whole is the UK’s largest trading partner. In 2019, UK exports to the EU were £294 billion (43% of all UK exports). UK imports from the EU were £374 billion (52% of all UK imports). (Source)

£294 billion, 43% of all our exports, is hardly a "piddly amount!"

Although much of that amount came from services, an £18 billion surplus in 2019, especially financial services. As of 24/10/20 much of which we have already lost as companies move from the UK to the EU. What Brexit will do to the City of London

Quote

Thousands of jobs and well over £1trn ($1.3trn) of assets have already been shifted to continental Europe as City firms confront this new friction.

Also, where will we buy all the goods tariff free which we currently buy from the EU tariff free?

New trade deals? Well, Truss' department has joyously been announcing these regularly. Latest total, dated today. Not many of the big players/markets there!

Where's her joyfully announced deal with Japan on that list? It's not. Truss is calling it a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and claims it is much better than the EU/Japan deal. But Liz Truss unable to explain how UK-Japan deal is better than existing EU agreement.

Notice that when asked to quantify how her deal is better than the EU one she replies

Quote

"We have left the EU, we have left the EU, it is no longer our responsibility to do their economic calculations for them, but I have been very clear that this deal goes further and faster and brings additional economic benefits, yes it is higher.”

No one expects her or her department to do the EU's economic calculations for them. But surely she must have looked at theirs? Otherwise how does she know her deal is higher than the EU's one?

Let's not forget the real concessions Japan has granted us in the deal: Brexit: Liz Truss secures tariff wins with her Japan trade deal – for products UK doesn’t export.

By giving in to the Germans.  They have the engineering, France has the agriculture and the remnants are shared out.

It's always been about control with their take it or leave it offer.

They claim the UK can't be trusted, but really, who in their right mind would trust the other 27?

Macron has already said he will not sign up to any agreement that's not in France's best interest. So much for his EU vision - 555! Only if it benefits France and screw the rest.

Preserved the peace for 75 years in Europe - I'm sure the Poles, Hungarians, Serbs, Bosnians, Croats, Ukrainians etc etc etc might disagree with you there!

It avoided Germany rising again militarily again if that's what you mean.

Were the Poles, Hungarians, Serbs, Bosnians, Croats and Ukrainians part of the EU when the experienced their civil wars?
