Man lying in the road says he was just waiting for his kid - CCTV proves otherwise

Local officials and Sattahip rescue services were astonished when they were called to the scene of an apparent accident on the beach road at Bang Saray yesterday.

Phoonsawat had been lying there the best part of thirty minutes.

He was unconscious with a huge bump on his face despite wearing a helmet.

When he came round he insisted that he was just waiting for his daughter. He was taken to the navy hospital ER.

Baffled officials checked the municipal CCTV and discovered that in reality Phoonsawat, a 42 year old construction worker, had hit a soi dog that ran into his path and came off his Honda Wave.

A tad tongue in cheek, Daily News reported that the soi dog fled the scene in the confusion.

Well it appears he was lying about why he was lying.

Hopefully they checked him for concussion.

What's the problem? I always lie face down on the road with my helmet on when I wait for my daughter!

Understandable that he lied. Never try to blame a Soi dog. They are the holy cows of Thailand.

Lieland.

The stray dog is becoming the new 'brakes failed' excuse for falling off your bike drunk or driving into a ditch.

The cure is mass extermination of all wild dogs + prosecution of dog owners who allow their 'pets' to savage children or cause accidents.  I travel Rot Fai four times a week and several dogs are allowed out of a garden where they chase and harass motor bikes.

He didn't use it as an excuse....he actually hit a dog

Probably on the way to pick up his daughter ...

Maybe not so tongue in cheek if a family had all died due to a yet another wild dog running around.

Ha ha, excellent!

I think you're leading us all on. Carry on like that and you'll get your collar felt (the first one was leather).

Anything is pawsable I guess, he may have been on the way to retriever his daughter.

Or perhaps he's just had a very ruff day.  I may be barking up the wrong tree, but I'm not going to terrier my self up about it.

It seems he was first spotted by the pup-arazzy when he got off the leash.

Not drunk its concussion, read the article properly. A dog ran in front of him he crashed it's on CCTV. You still get concussion even if wearing a crash helmet

If he missed it out that's past tense, so surely it should be a shat zu?

Usually the story goes the other way, and it is an imaginary dog or break failure...

This is the rare case when a dog was not blamed by the driver yet it was a dog that caused him fall.
