Israeli parents blame Thai police for covering up son's murder

NETANYA, ISRAEL: The relatives of Ron Rezin, a 27-year-old businessman from Netanya who was recently killed in Bangkok, Thailand, said Thursday that Thai police concealed his body and covered up the fact he was murdered.

Army Radio reported Thursday that Rezin arrived in Thailand on March 22 for a trip and disappeared three days later.

His family has been searching for him since his disappearance. Only after a month and a half of searching did they discover his body was being held in the Bangkok pathological institute.

The Rezin family said they were never informed their son's body was in the institute.

According to the radio, Bangkok police claimed Rezin was killed after falling off a building, but upon examining a film that documented the finding his body his family said they suspect he was robbed and murdered.

They accuse Thai police of hiding the body to cover up the circumstances of their son's death, and noted that police provided conflicting testimonies regarding his death.

Rezin's parents are demanding Israel support their request to investigate the circumstances of their son's death.
