wormdrive
I have a 5-year (actually 6 years as I went the day after B-day) driver's license that is due to expire at the end of the year. Is there any penalty for not renewing it before the expiry date? For example, you can no longer get the 5-year and are reverted back to the 2-year one? Or, maybe have to provide additional paperwork etc? I'm just really pressed to make it over to MTT to do the COR before the end of the year and want to know if I go in early January if there will be problems? Thanks in advance for the info. Salerno
No problem, you can renew up to a year later before having to redo the theory test.
Kwasaki
You have 1 year as said. After that you will need your valid home DL to get another 2 year DL.
Meggie Mae
I live in Chiang Mai. My initial 2-year motorcycle license expired last April. I assume from your comments above that I have a year's grace period to renew without having to take the written or road test again. If that is correct, can you advise on what documents I'd need to have copies of when renewing the license at the Land Transportation office? Thank you.
