Real estate pricing Thai style.

Since the beginning of the  Covid-19 pandemic there has been a "house for sale"  sign near where we live.    The price for this 3 bedroom house was posted as 8.5 million baht.

 

Because  its  languished on the  market for as long as it has,   the owner decided the best way to sell it is to increase the price to its present offer at 9 million baht.   The Missus pointed it out to me as we drove by.

 

Sounds like the same concept of increasing the price of beer if there are fewer customers.   I find that lack of marketing savvy  both pitiful  and appalling.  But TIT.  ????

There seem to be very few 3-4 million houses on the market in the Hua Hin aera as they have been put upto 6-7 million due to lack of customers I'm observing ????

That reminds me of what my wife said when I asked how do Thais go about prices houses to sell.

My wife said they go by their heart.  ????

I wouldn't be surprised if these expensive houses are available for rent at less than 10K Baht per month.

Well if it's more expensive, it's got to be better, right? ????

it means they don't really want to sell (or dont need the money) BUT if some mug would make it worth it to them.. they may surrender it ????
