Immigration set up emergency task force for Samut Sakhon outbreak - call 1178 to report illegal entry

Naew Na reported that immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang had ordered the establishment of a special fast response task force to liaise with other authorities in the province of Samut Sakhon where there has been a Covid-19 outbreak.

Laotian transgender woman, 27, arrested for Phuket gold shop ‘snatch and run’

PHUKET: Police have arrested a 27-year-old Loatian transgender woman and her Thai male friend after the woman grabbed five gold bracelets from a gold shop in Phuket Town yesterday (Dec 20) and ran off.

Bangkok announces 10 measures to control Covid-19 transmission

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has announced 10 measures to curb the transmission of Covid-19 and has launched a proactive hunt for migrant workers who may be infected. BMA has also closed three schools that are on the border of Samut Sakhon province.

There were 382 new Covid-19 cases following active testing of migrant workers in Samut Sakhon province, and in quarantine facilities, over a 24-hour period, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Monday.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Australia said on Monday it had detected cases of the new fast-spreading coronavirus strain identified in the United Kingdom, while Hong Kong and India said they would suspend flights from Britain.
