webfact
Guilty! Thai music teacher at Sarasas fined 1,000 baht on six counts of hitting 7 year olds The Nonthaburi court has fined a Thai music teacher 6,000 baht on six counts of hitting children. Suthiporn Wongkhwanmuang or "Khru Kabu" used a plastic handle of a duster to whack the left palms of six children all aged 7 years old. His attacks caused bruising and reddening but did not constitute danger or psychological harm, noted the court who recognised the teacher's admissions. He was fined 1,000 baht for each case under Article 391. Daily News did not report if the teacher was still employed by Sarasas Witaed Ratchaphruek that has been at the center of many cases of abuse of children especially in its kindergarten years. Popular Post keith101
Should be sacked and banned from teaching for life for striking children who are supposed to be safe under his care , never ever any excuse for doing what he did . 20

Popular Post Smee
Tip of the iceberg. I can't disclose the details because of Thai defamation laws, but Sarasas has a LOOONG way to go to clean up its act. For our eldest, who spent many uncomfortable, abusive and ultimately worthless years at one of their campuses its already too late, as it is for many others who suffered through the same uncaring, unprofessional and discriminatory abuse they cynically inflict on their students. I hope future Sarasas students are one day able to enjoy an education worthy of the name. But frankly with such paltry fines being levied against a clearly violent, unsuitable, bullying and inappropriate 'teacher', a teacher who, in our experience, is certainly in the company of many others of similarly dubious provenance, I doubt Sarasas, or any of the other paragons of Thai 'education', are going to be persuaded to change their mindsets and appalling treatment of innocent children any time soon. 7

I remember copping similar in Grade 2, so about the same age, with the ruler. Then more in later years. It was necessary to keep me and my mates in line and stop us disturbing and fighting the good kids who wanted to learn. Dad had to give us a “clip around the ear“ as well. I don’t hold any grudges, it hardened me up. I am grateful for it. None of us seem to have “mental health” issues that are so common with young adults these days. A slap on the hand like in this case is nothing, a stinging pain that dissipates in under a minute. A lot different to a closed fist punch in the head which would cause a real injury. Harden up. 9 1 1 2

I would not describe myself as a softie, however I had some lunatics as teachers. canings, side on rulers across the knuckles, blackboard rubbers launched across the classroom at high speeds on a regular basis and even had a two handed throat grab up against a wall. I was'nt a really bad kid but they didnt like being questioned and I still dont think the violence was deserved.

Popular Post nausea
You think this is bad. I went to a Catholic school, and the wrath of the nuns has to be experienced to be believed. Still wondering why I was thrown from pillar to post at the age of 6 or 7. Here's a tip to the sadists out there, at least explain why you're doing what you're doing so the kid can understand. Still, inured me to violence. I'm guessing it was a frustrated sexuality thing. 2 1

Luxury!! I went to 'Christian' Brothers College. Those Christian Brothers were the Mossad of today and their techniques were handed down from the Spanish Inquisition. It was not unusual for students to be nailed to the walls above the schools entrance as a lesson to others for not doing homework. Didnt dare tell our parents for fear of another flogging when we got home. And it never did us any harm! From the outside you "hardened up" sorts rarely present as the fine fellows that you so often like to think you are. Most of you "hardened up" types that I meet (and I have met a quite a few) seem pretty "troubled" in one way or another. But invariably full of the ill deserved self-regard that your few words quoted above reveal. “O, wad some Power the giftie gie us To see oursels as others see us! It wad frae monie a blunder free us, An' foolish notion.” Robert Burns Edited December 23, 2020 by Enoon 1

Iron Tongue
I'd gladly pay a 1000 baht fine if I could slap every kid that parents let scream in a restaurant. I'd pay another 1000 baht to slap the parents.

RobU
I was bullied by teachers at my secondary school one in particular used to constantly pick me out and slap me. I was not a troublemaker i was a very quiet and withdrawn. He continued until one day he was repeatedly slapping me across the back of the head, I stood up and hit him back (Hard). One of his colleagues then took me aside and said that he was doing it for my own good. He stopped hitting me but then encouraged the bully boys of the class to do it for him. I saw him in the local village many years later approached him and told him to watch out, I now knew where he lived (I am now 6 feet 3 inches tall and at that time I was very well muscled). The look of fear on his face and the sweat on his top lip was very rewarding.
