You can apply on the 28th but but be sure you have everything needed. A week early would be OK.

At this time the 29th is last day they are available.

What is the earliest one can apply for the 2 month extension ? I am located in Chiang Mai and have an extension until the 28th of February 2021 .

They might do it on or before the 29th of this month if the regulation has not been extended.

Normally for short term extension the would not do them more than 2 weeks early at most offices.

While i recommend Ubon Joe's advice over my own, i applied (and received w/o problem) my extension 22 days before expiration. It was extended 60 days from the expiration date giving me at that time 82 days. It helped having ready:

 1) all forms filled

 2) passport size photo

 3) 1900 baht fee

 4) proof of residence

 5) photocopy of passport page & TM6 form (small white departure form u get on arrival at immigration).

Also helpful was clean appearance & professional respectful attitude. All that said, with potentially advancing lockdown situations (depending on your location) and no knowledge yet of whether extensions will be automatic (assume unlikely), going earlier rather than later is probably a good strategy.

Apologies for hijacking this thread, but it is on a very similar theme.

I am in Thailand on a single-entry 90 day non-immigrant 'O' visa (based on marriage). Initially we had no intention of staying longer, but would now like to extend for another 60 days. Unfortunately, I do not have our marriage certificate (UK) with us.

Given my circumstances, can I get a 60 day COVID related extension to my existing visa? If so, when and where should I apply? (In person at Chang Wattana?) My existing visa runs until 5 March, but I'd rather try and sort out things sooner rather than later. If an extension to my existing visa is not possible, are there any other options for an extension?

Thanks for your help.

Where was this done? Certainly not Bangkok, where they are giving only 60 days from application date. Some may need to shop locations if they wish to get 60 days from expiration before Jan 31

I just arrived in thailand on a tr visa. Would i be able to get the 60 day covid extension rather than 30 days?

That is unknown at this time. The order for the 60 day extension expires on the 29th of this month. I think it will be extended but they might change the requirements to get it.

Also there may already be a requirement that you have to be in the country prior to certain date to qualify for it.

I have an extension until Feb 24. Would they give me one more month if I go again before Jan 29? Thank you.

That would depend upon the office where you apply for the extension.

Some offices may do it and start the new extension of the day you apply. Others might not accept your application that early or accept it and start it from the day your current extension expires.

Just an FYI, apparently this has changed or I had bad information, but we received 60 days from expiry date rather than application date for a second extension at MTT.
