Wissanu: Govt seeking panel members for gambling den investigations

BANGKOK (NNT) - Following a directive from the Prime Minister, the government is now seeking people to sit on the Gambling Dens and Border Trafficking Investigation Panel. DPM Wissanu said today there is no requirement for panel members to be members of the Cabinet, or strictly from outside.

Health Ministry expects COVID-19 cases to increase over next two weeks

BANGKOK (NNT) - Health authorities are now expecting the number of cases in the current wave of COVID-19 infections will continue to increase over the next two weeks, asking people visiting high-risk areas to monitor their symptoms for 14 days.

Military helps buy shrimps from farmers as demand falls

BANGKOK (NNT) - Shrimp farmers are now facing a decline in customer demand following the new COVID-19 outbreak. The Royal Thai Armed Forces have launched an initiative to help such farmers by purchasing shrimps, as well as helping raise public awareness that seafood items are safe to consume.

BMA looks into three approaches to solve thorny issues with BTS

January 15 will be the last day the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) allows commuters to use the Green Line Skytrain extension sections for free, after the sections that run from Mo Chit to Ku Kot stations on the northern route and from Bearing to Samut Prakan stations on the southern route were officially opened for public use on December 16.

Ban on alcohol sales in restaurants, other venues will cost industry Bt9 billion, TABBA chief bemoans

The government’s order banning the drinking of alcoholic beverages at restaurants and other entertainment venues since January 4 in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 is estimated to affect more than 1 million entrepreneurs and employees and cost the industry Bt9 billion, said Thanakorn Kuptajit, secretary-general of the Thai Alcohol Beverage Business Association (TABBA).

Bangkok Airways suspends flights, closes ticketing office due to new Covid wave

In response to the new wave of Covid-19 infections and the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration’s announcement urging people to avoid inter-provincial travel, Bangkok Airways on Friday suspended a few flights, including Samui-Phuket and Phuket-Hat Yai from January 10-31.

Pattaya mayor opens special facility for people seeking permission to leave province

Labor Min to allow illegal migrant laborers to be legitimized
