Some Thai friends have been posting a hoax "news article" that has popped up on the internet again.

It claims that doctors in Italy defied a WHO ban on performing autopsies on people who've died from Covid. (Duh - how would they know what those people died of if they didn't do an autopsy ?)

It claims the Italian doctors had performed the first ever autopsy of a covid patient and discovered that it wasn't a virus, it was a bacteria.
More bullsh** follows and they list some names of heart diseases (like arteriosclerosis) and then try to blame it all on - lol - 5G radiation !!
(****ing morons.)

it goes on to claim that they discovered you could be cured just by taking a couple of aspirin or paracetamol and that Italy had wiped over 14,000 "covid patients" off the books (cured and released them) in a single day (apparently by just giving them a couple of aspirin). :glare:

The hoax has been circulating since at least last April (that's the earliest I've been able to trace it to). Like many such hoaxes, everything is in "generalities" (like dates, locations, names of hospitals/doctors, etc) so that nothing can be proven (or disproven). It's attributed to the "Italian Ministry of Health" - with no links or names of course.

I knew it was BS the second I read that Italy was the first country to perform an autopsy on a covid patient. Then there was a bit about how they supposedly discovered that covid-19 wasn't a virus (it was a bacteria) and that "5G Radiation" was to blame. Then there was the bit about the WHO supposedly banning autopsies. Then the bit about how covid was actually affecting the heart (circulatory system) and not the lungs (respiratory system).

But unfortunately, there are a lot of dumb people who will believe almost anything. Especially if it fits their agenda. More so if what they see was posted by someone they know (and there assume it must be true otherwise why would their friend post it). Very few of them have the brains or the desire to ever fact check something before forwarding it on, like those old emails that claimed Bill Gates would send you hundreds of dollars for every person you forwarded that email to.

When one of my friends posted that hoax in a chat group I immediately noted that it was BS but I suspected he didn't believe me (or didn't want to). I then posted links to half a dozen articles on different sites that all prove the story to be false. What happened ?
After about an hour of silence, another member of the group posts the same BS message, thinking it must be true and that the whole covid thing is a global conspiracy (even in places that don't have "5G" which those conspiracy idiots like to overlook).
