During the evisa process it asks for your location and directs your application to the relevant embassy/consulate for approval. There's only 1 or 2 countries where an embassy visit is physically required to pay the fees.- 2

The 800K is in the bank, albeit briefly, so they can issue a letter saying that. An officer (above a certain rank?) can approve extensions when the seasoning requirements haven't been met. That appears to be legal to me. -

Wow. Ok. Thank you for that. It's not what I've been told but also not surprising to hear. So there isn't even any pretense at making the process done through agents who fund accounts even appear quasi-legal. -

I'm confused, people keep talking about getting the DTV from this or that embassy, but I was under the impression that it's all e-visa now. No need for an embassy visit. -

Question regarding 90 days report
No. Did you not read Tod's post? He spells it out clearly. The grace period is just the period for reporting. The law specifically says you MUST report if you are in Thailand for 90 days. The grace period does not relieve you of that requirement.
