Thailand's tourism minister Pipat Ratchakitprakan told the Thai media that all those under his command were working on the 2021 tourism masterplan.

It was crucial that clear plans for both domestic and foreign tourism were in place, said the billionaire minister.

He said he was following the pandemic news closely as part of this.

The TAT has predicted 10 million foreigners will visit in the second half of the year spending 50,000 baht each on average.

The predictions are that total tourism will be up on 2020 - 44% up for foreigners, 33% up domestic.

Tourism earnings this year are expected to be 1.2 trillion baht with the market made up of 42% foreigners and 58% Thais.

Last year's tourism ministry figures showed there were 6.7 million foreign visitors nearly all of whom arrived prior to the pandemic.

Arrivals on the special tourist visa, business visa and Elite card holders combined amounted to 10,822 only between October and December 2020.

Of these 1,201 arrived in October, 3,065 in November and 6,556 in December.

Of all the foreign arrivals last year 3.7 million were east Asians.

1.65 million were ASEAN nationals.

1.2 million came from China, 320,000 from Japan.

Two million Europeans came to Thailand in 2020 and 318,000 US nationals.

321,000 arrived from south Asia, 79,000 from the middle east and 24,000 from Africa.

A politician needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year. And to have the ability afterwards t

Just makes me want to sing, so happy, so lucky to live in a country where all is right and millions would come and visit.  The Tourism Minister must be singing the following:

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharin' all the world
Yoo, hoo, oo-oo

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Immigration let alone the ASQ hotels if Quarantine is still a go, oh but wait, maybe he thinks that the vaccinated tourists will not have to quarantine and will flock in droves to a country where vaccinations have not even started...I think he has been smoking some of Anutin's private stock...

Amazing Vaccin ASQ holiday:

*2 Shots of Chinese no fake vaccin

What 10 Million.

I know that there are at least 1 Billion Ch.    sitting on their packed luggages at departure lounge, waiting for green light to board the flight.

170 Million Europeans are queuing up at various airports.

234 Million Americans desperate to  book available flights and then the rest.

Conservative figure should be: at least 2 Billion people expected by end of 2021

Where you go????

Thighland, hurry up. Last chance.

Not from the UK, according to the BBC.

I daresay many countries will be the same. Nobody fancies sitting on a plane, risking catching it in a foreign country. Or visiting places like Pattaya that are pretty much closed down. Or risking an outbreak and regulations changing after you've booked it or worse still, while you are actually on holiday. Paying through the nose for flights and insurance. Being treated like a prisoner with leprosy by overzealous security in airports etc.

Given Thailand's reputation for corrupt police, flipflopping on laws, military governments, political protests etc. I suspect those the few that do choose to go overseas will choose more stable places.

10 million in 2022 is possible I guess, if Thailand ever manages to purchase the vaccine.

I would be very careful with these proclamations.

OK, but I'd prefer them to start detailing exactly how the people can come in without quarantining, without vaccine passports and without having to prove they are non-infectious in any way, as 10,000,000 people having to plan in advance without knowing it is impossible !

So who is he aiming that remark at ?

His very own TAT maybe.

Each tourist will receive free accommodations provided they bring with them a vial of vaccine gift wrapped for Anutin, said the TAT minister
