Bangkok allows many businesses, venues to reopen but bars to remain closed

Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang on Saturday evening allowed 37 types of venues in the province to reopen after they had been ordered to close in the aftermath of the second Covid-19 wave.

 

The governor’s announcement follows approval on Friday from the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) for relaxation.

 

The order, approved by the provincial communicable disease prevention committee, will take effect on February 1. However, pubs, bars, karaoke booths, massage parlours, cockfighting or other types of animal fighting stadium, and child-care centres located in Bang Khun Thian, Bang Khae, Bang Phlat, Chom Thong and Thonburi districts will remain closed.

 

Some businesses or activities have been allowed to open partially.

 

▪︎Restaurants can serve until 11pm but no alcoholic drinks are allowed (people can take alcoholic drinks home)

 

▪︎Seminars, banquets or catered events can be held with no more than 100 participants. No alcohol or dancing is allowed at these events.

 

▪︎Teaching, exam, training to be organised as a mix, on-site, online, on-air; no activities with a large number of participants.

 

The other places covered by the announcement are:

 

▪︎Department stores, malls, and community malls can open as normal but should refrain from holding activities that encourage gathering

 

▪︎Exhibition hall, convention hall

 

▪︎Meeting room in hotel or similar building with less than 100 participants

 

▪︎Small retail shop, fleece market

 

▪︎Large retail shop

 

▪︎Child-care centres located in some districts

 

▪︎Elder-care centre

 

▪︎Nail salon, beauty clinic

 

▪︎Golf course

 

▪︎Sport arena, sport field

 

▪︎Park

 

▪︎Pet shop, pet salon, and hotel

 

▪︎Indoor gym

 

▪︎Swimming pool both outdoor and indoor

 

▪︎Theatre playhouse

 

▪︎Botanical garden, flower garden, learning centre, historic site, public library, art exhibition, and museum

 

▪︎Water sport in lake area

 

▪︎Zoo

 

▪︎Game arcades

 

▪︎Martial arts schools

 

▪︎Any types of ground for sports competition without spectators

 

▪︎Internet cafes

 

▪︎Seminars, banquets or catered events under the aforementioned conditions

 

▪︎Amulet shops

 

▪︎Tattoo shops

 

▪︎Fitness centres

 

▪︎Spa and massage shops

 

▪︎Bowling alley, skate ring

 

▪︎Ballroom dance school

 

▪︎Boxing stadium can open for training or competition without spectators

 

▪︎Horse racecourse can open for sport purpose

 

▪︎Schools can open for teaching or other activities fully but with virus preventive measures

 

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration urged people to wear face masks when leaving their residence and check in and out of places they visit using the government’s tracking platform.

My wifes friends take whisky & soda to the restaurant to drink disguised in a

"popular plastic bottle with a tea label".

It's about the lack of social-distancing in bars and restaurants when people are drunk.

Yep that virus can do anything  Apparently the virus has taken to alcohol It loves a good drink So alcohol must be banned > Also the virus is very clever It can tell if the alcohol is drunk in a bar or at home Most important you know
