From a non B to a non O ???

Planning to have my wife moving from a non B to a non O (spouse) - I have my own visa (F).

Right now, her work permit is ending beginning of March and her non B extension end of May

A few questions:

Does she need to cancel her work permit first?

If she cant get a letter from the company, what are the options?

Can we try quickly to have her on a non O before the end of her work permit?

Requirements for a non O ? I guess no need for a bank account deposit of 400K?
