  • Who may apply for the COE?

The following categories of persons are permitted to enter Thailand and are required to apply for a valid visa and Certificate of Entry (COE) before traveling to Thailand:

  • Diplomats, officials of international organizations, and their family members
  • Non-Thai nationals who are spouses (holding a Thai Marriage visa), parents or children of Thai nationals
  • Non-Thai nationals who have a Certificate of Permanent Residence
  • Non-Thai nationals with valid work permit or letter of confirmation to work (WP3) from the relevant Thai government agency, and their spouse and children
  • Non-Thai nationals who are students of formal educational establishments in Thailand as approved by Thai authorities, and their parents
  • Non-Thai nationals in need of medical treatment in Thailand, except for treatment of COVID-19, including their accompanying persons
  • Holders of Non-Immigrant visa Category OA/OX
  • Holders of APEC Business card or Thai Elite Visa
  • Holders of Special Tourist Visa (STV) Or Tourist Visa (TR) selected countries only
  • Holders of Non-Immigrant visa for Business purpose, ownership of condominium or investment
  • Holders of Non-Immigrant O retirement visa
  • Passport holders of Countries under Visa Exemption Program

Is the retirement extension to a Non "O" visa covered?

Item 11 looks to cover it but it's questioned in our local debate.

Thank you

It's number 11.

Where would you be applying for the COE at. There are differences between the embassies and official consulates where you apply for it at.

On the list you posted this one for those on a extension that was done for a non-o visa entry.

Thank you Joe,

I think this list was compiled at the Thai (US) Embassy but assumed it applied to all.

The applicant will be applying from the Thai (Australian) Embassy. Why would there be differences? Well we know!!!

I'll just pass on what I have to date.

Link for the official consulate in Sydney is here. https://sydney.thaiembassy.org/en/index

One is that can be different is the need for the 40/400k baht insurance requirements.

Then he'd be selecting this:

He can also select the consulate in Sydney.

I know of a couple of people on Retirement Extensions that had no problems qualifying for a CoE online, booked and paid for both ASQ and insurance and have recently re-entered Thailand.

Hi, need quick advice. I tried to upload the Personal Declaration forms but there is not a separate section to upload. SO I uploaded the 3 pages of this form in 3 diff sections. But the Embassy refuses to accept this kind of upload, insisting that it be uploaded onto 1 section only. They refuse to accept that it cannot be uploaded on one section. Its been over 3 days going back and forth on this, while other docs have been accepted.

Any advice.

On the COE application site you can upload files. Can you create a PDF file after scanning the form.
