PRGUY Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 My comp got infected as a result of browing the internet with this virus and I see a small balloon at the bottom right hand of my screen saying that its infected with thing: new PSW.x-Vit trojan but scans with My NOD32 or AVG Anti-virus and anti-spyware prgs that are both updated are unable to pick it up. I have C-Cleaners and Windows Care but even the later cannot find this bugger. tried download.com for free software but most said to download the goggle pack with firefox mozilla, which when I do, there is no antivirus or antispyware prgs. Please help somebody...is there any free prgs that can help?
waldwolf Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 PRGUY - Check this Website. (If you scroll down page to "Examples of the fake warnings generated-" your reported virus is # 4 on the list.) waldwolf
cdnvic Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Are you running bothe NOD32 and AVG? That will also cause false positives. Uninstall the AVG, it's never a good idea to run two AVs at once.
PRGUY Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks both of you guys above. Helped a great deal guys especially the site that you recommended me, the nuisance dissappeared and I also have removed my AVG.Once again thanks a lot guys.
