In the CoE form, is the "Place of origin" my country of citizenship, my country of permanence residence, or the country where I'll be flying from to Thailand?

Featured Replies

The country where you'll be flying from to Thailand , your port of origin.

thanks!

That's not right.

Where you originate from is where you were born.

Where you coming from is your point of departure.

It is correct in this case.

It is the country you will be traveling from. AKA point of origin.

So we can twist the english language to mean anything we like.

As in "no" means "yes" and "yes" means "no"

IMHO you should be directing your criticism at the "bright spark" in the MFA who came up with what I presume to be an ambiguous translation from Thai and in so doing demonstrated their woefully pathetic grasp of the English language for all (or at least those needing COE's) to see.

It can have different meanings.

I would like to reply but I will restrain myself.

Airlines often use "origin" and "destination" so not surprising the Thai use it this way.

On the COE app on line in USA it asks for "home in thailand" and a "contact phone #" in the personal information section? Does this mean hotel for ASQ? I have no home there and I can't find any answer to this. And you can't pass on to the next section without input in these 2 fields. Anybody know?

The COE application site is the same for every country.

You could put the hotel address where you will be staying at after you finish quarantine.

I assume you don't have mobile number for Thailand. You could put the phone number for the hotel I assume.

That's what I was thinking also but some of the wording of the fields is a little short on the app. Thanks Joe
