LONDON (Reuters) - British foreign minister Dominic Raab said on Sunday he shared concerns about the level of access given to a World Health Organization COVID-19 fact-finding mission to China, echoing criticism from the United States.

The White House on Saturday called on China to make available data from the earliest days of the novel coronavirus outbreak, saying it had "deep concerns" about the way the findings of the WHO's COVID-19 report were communicated.

Asked about the U.S. reaction, Raab told the BBC: "We do share concerns that they get full cooperation and they get the answers they need, and so we'll be pushing for it to have full access, get all the data it needs to be able to answer the questions that I think most people want to hear answered around the outbreak."

In a separate BBC interview, a member of the WHO's delegation to China said that, while Chinese authorities had not given them all raw data, they had seen a lot of information and discussed analysis of the first cases.

"It would be unusual for them to hand over the raw data, but we looked at a great deal of information in detail in discussion with the Chinese counterparts," said John Watson, an epidemiologist who travelled to China as part of the WHO team.

On Saturday, Dominic Dwyer, an Australian infectious diseases expert, who is also a member of the team, said China had refused access to all the data requested.

Simply state that if China does not give full cooperation, then it must be assumed that this was either a pre-meditated biological attack by China, or they inadvertently allowed somethingto escape one of their many bio labs.

yes,, and CCP Face really hates that cast cloud of doubt now hovering above them...

What findings? They haven't found anything, and they haven't been allowed to find anything the CCP doesn't want them to find.

I agree with this, fantastic idea. The world has been devastated by this disease and allowing the CCP to do it's usual bullsh-t run-around game just shouldn't be allowed. It's time for real answers.

This virus is getting worse and worse, easier to transmit and more deadly. If it keeps going this way, and we don't get any answers about the source of the disease, we could be looking at complete chaos in a few years time.

After some of the statements coming out after the visit a check on bank statements may now also be in order ????

In the case of academics with previous or current projects in China, if they go against the Chinese narrative they and their institutions risk losing access in China. Then they may also lose grant money from their own governments.

Spotlight was taken off Wuhan Institute of Virology rather too quickly I think.

That spotlight turned off maybe last summer when the Chinese themselves announced that a previous case and a small cluster pre-empted the Wuhan breakout in another province. I guess that got lost in the noise when everyone was hell-bent on finding out if the "lab leak" was accidental or deliberate.

Much more recently (like last week), the Australian participant, Professor Dominic Dwyer, already commented publicly that the "Patient 0" that the Chinese permitted the team to interview told them that he had never, ever been near the Wuhan wet market.
