A few questions...

1) Are the neighboring countries open now for a quick visa run?

2) Is a visa run in them still a viable option?

3) Is a visa run like it used to be pre-covid in regards to it's hassles - possible? More difficult? Less difficult? Same?

4) Do you have to leave the country after 90 days?

5) Are extensions still possible?

6) How many times can you extend?

7) Any differences one should be aware of?

Thanks in advance! ????

The is no easy place to do a visa or border run to now. All land borders are still closed and entry to all ASEAN countries are restricted or closed for all intents and purposes.

You also have to have a certificate of entry (COE) to enter the country, covid 19 insurance and a 14 day quarantine.

Visa exempt entries are now 45 days to give 30 days after quarantine and then a one 30 day extension with the possibility of a 60 day covid 19 extension that ends on March 30th unless you the extend the order again.

Single entry tourist visas are available with a 30 day extension and then maybe a 60 day extension.

The is a special tourist visa (STV) you can apply for in your home country that allows a 90 day entry that can be extended for 90 days twice. But it requires health and covid 19 insurance for your stay, a criminal background check and proof of accommodations for your stay.
