The chief of Thailand's tech police or PCT gave details at RTP HQ yesterday of the arrest of three people in two fraud cases.

In the first Chaiwat and Phayuphat, both 26, managed to infiltrate accounts of people with many followers on Instagram and Facebook.

They then hacked One Time Passwords and stole from accounts after offering to sell second hand designer bags.

Losses were in the tens of millions of baht and cases were reported in Bangkok and elsewhere.

In another case a woman called Kunthidalak, 34, was operating a site called "Celebrity Brandname" on Facebook also offering second hand bags for sale claiming they were 100% genuine.

She had no bags either and just took customers money after they believed her and transferred funds.

Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat said both cases were similar

These were actions inspired by PM Prayut Chan-ocha's drive to reduce online fraud, reported Naew Na.
