webfact Posted February 18, 2021 Share Posted February 18, 2021 Three years before situation improves for hotels in Thailand, says Kasikorn The Bangkok Insight reported on the continuing plight of hotels forced to shut down in Thailand due to the pandemic. They reported on the Thai government policy of "asset warehousing". The basics of this scheme is that hotels can sell their assets then buy them back when things improve and foreign tourists return. But Kasikorn Research suggested it could be three years before any sense of normality returns. The think tank has suggested that far greater clarity is needed from the government into the terms and conditions of asset warehousing.
