Supposedly there's day trips available. Anyone know about the boat service? I've read on Trip Advisor about a boat from Jomtein but not an accurate location of Boat landing. The Island is just off Sattahip.

Whoever suggested Jomtien is way off course. Wherever you're starting from head for KiloSip (Sirikit Hospital) and hit the road going to the entrance for U Tapao Airport. Go on past there for several miles until you see some red/white radio masts. Take the left turn where they are and go all way to the end. If you come to a Y-junction and take the left fork, then at the end turn left up the hill you'll come to a Fisherman's Temple which is quite quaint and gives brilliant views over the bay all the way to Rayong in the east and over the fishing village of SamaeSan and the island to the west.

If you're heading straight for the island ferry, fork right at the Y-junction, go on into the village and right along the shore-line which is built up with several fishing jetties. Finally you'll be facing an entrance to a military base, but turn left there, and you'll come to a visitor centre. The road goes on past there, and ends at the jetty where the ferry goes from. Unless it's a weekend or a Thai holiday you can usually park fairly near to the jetty.

There's not that much on the island, but it's a pleasant day out. Mostly people get a cart-ride over to a beach on the other side, and you can take a ride in a glass-bottom boat to look at brightly-coloured fish.

It's nice to swim in nice clear water. Ferry is 600bht for farang, 300 bht for Thai. Must wear a life vest at all times in the water. The glass bottom boat showed zero fish, none ahahaa. You can go snorkeling or rent a kayak. Not a bad day.
