New COVID-19 cluster in Pathum Thani, 53 new cases linked to butcher’s shop

A new cluster of 53 COVID-19 infections have been linked to a pork butcher’s shop in Pornpat market in Pathum Thani, according to the Public Health ministry.

The Department of Disease Control say that this new cluster has connections with Pornpat and Suchart markets. Most of the infected so far are migrant workers, most aged between 30 and 39.

The shop is now temporarily closed. The spread of infections in the shop is thought to be due to a lack of distancing between people working there.

Come to my local talat/market, everyone crammed in as usual, no distancing, no gel available, 15% not wearing masks and no visitor recording... good luck here if they have an outbreak, they won't have a clue who to track.

I repeat- make employers pay proper living wages, sanitary working conditions, quarantine, proper housing not dormitories, and Thais will take these jobs stopping illegally trafficked superspreading immigrants breaking quarantine! It's the cheapskate profit milking companies exploiting illegal immigrants that are to blame not the workers
