List of temple schools in Thailand that teach novices from poor families?

Recommended Posts

A couple years ago some friends and I visited a temple school in Rayong called the Mongkol Wittaya School. (http://www.mv.ac.th) This school teaches novice monks who come from families in poverty.

My friends and I spoke with the abbot about volunteering to teach English to the students. After chatting he said: “Let me take you up to the classroom so the students can practice their English with you now.”

I believe there are temple schools for novices from disadvantaged families all over Thailand. Perhaps there is a government ministry or office that supports them? Does anybody know how to find a list of temple schools in Thailand like this? Thanks.
