Two ideas. One is the local schools may have a recycle program. Save any batteries in a box and take them to a school. Two is a local recycle yard which there should be some around. I take all my UPS batteries to one and get about 30 baht for a 12 volt battery and they probably will accept a box of old alkaline too

Thanks for that will ask my friends if their kids school will take them and my recycle lady.
