I have Googled Please explain us how Denmark, Norway and Iceland have spent billions developing their less effective vaccines.

I can find many sites saying that Denmark, Norway and Iceland have suspended using the AZ vaccine but nothing about those countries developing their own.

I don't think that any of them are in the EU apart from possibly Denmark, so, unless they are buying it from the EU where are they getting it from?

I know. That's why I asked this question in reply to "The super effective and inexpensive AZ vaccine seems to be being attacked by many countries that have spent billions developing their own less effective vaccines."

Norway has made its own agreements, which doesn't bring much advantage as vaccines are currently in scarce supply anyway.

In my jaded mind there's no doubt whatever it's political.

No problem, if some countries don't want the Az vaccine then there's more for those who do.

let the EU ban the AZ - more doses to speed up the UK vaccination programme...  in return the UK can let them keep their PB vaccine in their -70 degree freezers.

I believe it's gotten pretty high marks for efficacy. Though lack of transparency has hurt it's reputation.

At no time did I mention the EU. As you say, not every country in Europe is in the EU, the UK is a prime example.

Fair enough.

I was confused by you saying

Europe is peed with AZ due to them not being promoted to the front of the queue, and started unwarranted claims about the vaccine. What did AZ do? Put Europe to the back of the queue again. Som nam na.

So, if not the EU, which countries were you referring to?

If you meant the country where these claims began, Norway, why not say Norway?

The EU have not said that the AstraZeneca vaccine is unsafe; nor have they given any indication of banning it.

Though both the EMA and WHO are investigating the blood clot claims; which as responsible organisations they should. AstraZeneca vaccine: Safety experts to review jab

What individual nations, EU members or not, decide is, of course, entirely up to them.

It the WHO truly able to investigate anything? I think they just regurgitate information fed to them by their sponsors...

Blanket statements are often true, that there are exceptions does prove them false.

A blanket statement is usually not true.  Like this one.  The WHO does some great work.  So far, there's NO evidence the jab is causing blood clots.  So, the benefits of getting the jab, and ending this pandemic, far outweigh this issue.

I am all for people getting vaccinated and as with any drug, there are risks.

What are some of the great investigations done by the WHO?

They may do great things, but I do not think they are staffed to do actual investigations.

There are too many investigations to list.  Use Google.  You'll come across many.  That's part of what they do.  Sadly, in this case, and with SARS, China isn't allowing a full investigation.  And the WHO has NO power to do it without their approval.  Impossible.
