greenmonkey
I'm pretty sure this has been asked many times but is it possible for me to invest in ftse shares from Thailand? If so, what is the best way to do? Can you recommend any decent trading platforms? Many Thanks

Oxx
There are two ways to do this: (1) Open a brokerage account in Thailand with access to the UK market, for example Philips POEMS, SCB Securities. (2) Open an offshore brokerage account, for example Internaxx, Interactive Brokers, Saxo. The one thing you won't be able to do is open an account with a UK brokerage if you're not resident in the UK. Typically, with option (1) you'll be paying into your account in baht, whilst with (2) you'll be paying in Sterling. My concern would be that if you're asking such a basic question, are you really knowledgeable enough to be buying individual equities? You'd probably be better off buying mutual funds where a fund manager makes the selection for you.
