Really?

Do you think Basic Instinct would have been as successful as it was without all that naked flesh?

And that movie makes no sense without lots of sex. That is what it's about.

If Sharon Stone don't like that kind of movie why did she participate? I am sure she was informed about what that movie is about before she signed up for it.

To be sure there is no misunderstanding: This is about "sex" in movies. The article above does not mention any sex outside of the movies.

What on Earth are you on about? Simulating sex for a movie scene and being asked by a producer to screw your co-star for real are two completely different things and you made it sound like she should have screwed her co-star because sex sells and that makes it ok! The producer wanted her to screw her co-star for real on camera for the movie! What the hell is wrong with you?!

Where in the article do you read "for real"? What the hell is wrong with you?!

If it had been not for real we obviously wouldn’t be having this conversation because pretending to have sex on camera for a movie is pretty much standard for a lot of films and it would be nothing to write home about or to mention it in an autobiography! Duh!!!

I would have agreed with you a couple of years ago. But it seems these days some women complain about anything that happend with men decades ago. I am sure some actors will complain now that they "had to" show flesh in movies which they made many years ago and which maybe made them famous.

Quick, and without using Google...

What was the plot of Basic Instinct?  Because I honestly don't remember any more than about 10 seconds of that movie.

She killed him allegedly with an Icepick like she wrote in her book. Nick investigates her. She makes him horny while he interviews her. They have sex.

Supposedly someone was standing outside of a producer's office when Marilyn Munroe came out, wiping her mouth and stating "that was the last c*** she'd ever have to suck" after being cast as the star in (whatever movie it was).

Hopefully you can link a source for that, please.

Having just done a search, it seems that it is claimed (in many places including books and the movie "Goodbye Norma Jean" where those are the last words spoken in the film).
Supposedly it was right after she signed a major contract with 20th Century Fox (one site says she said it to a "trusted" newspaper reporter that she thought would never repeat it.)
The book (Love Warriors: In All Is Vanity without Shame) has the quote as well but doesn't mention when she supposedly said it or who heard it.

Of course, pretty much everyone who was around her at that time has passed on by now so it's not likely there'll ever be definitive proof she said it.

Its in the contract they sign for a movie what is expected to be shown. Many actors turn down roles because of nudity. Many use doubles for certain shots.

Those that are asked to have sex for real just to get better chemistry have every right to complain.

That's absolutely true, but they knew it beforehand and they chose fame, so there's really no point in bitching about it now...

Heck, Norman Mailer was drunk 97% of the time. ????

Regarding  doing the "real thing" to achieve chemistry, I think that's commonly referred to as porn if it's on film.

Marilyn Monroe's is one of those deaths that will never be fully explained as to the manner of her death.

I, for one, would like to know.
