Latest passport ranking index moves ranks Cambodia 88th

Featured Replies

Cambodia has received an overall score of 54 in the latest Henley Passport Index, placing it in 88th spot. Henley & Partners, a global citizenship advisory form, releases its report on a quarterly basis. The scoring for the index is based on the number of countries a passport provides visa-free/visa-on-arrival entry into.

The 54 nations that grant visa-free/visa-on-arrival entry access to Cambodian passport holders are primarily in Southeast Asia and Africa. Last year, Cambodia was ranked 89th in the world. The Kingdom moved up one spot in the latest ranking and is tied with Vietnam, Chad, Comoro Islands, Mali and Niger.

In Southeast Asia, the Singaporean passport remains the most powerful travel document, with 192 countries providing its holders visa-free/visa-on-arrival entry access. It was also ranked number two in the world. Other nations in the region scored as follows; Malaysia (179), Brunei (166), Timor-Leste (94), Thailand (80), Indonesia (72) and the Philippines (66). Laos (50) and Myanmar (47) ranked lower than Cambodia.
