One of the best things about Fauci, is if you don't like what he just said, wait a day or two, and he will contradict himself, if not outright change his mind, and not based on any studies or science.

When first asked early last year, he said not to ask him because he has always advised that the entire world live permanently in private individual bubbles, and then everyone would be completely safe.

He said last year, that masks were NOT needed, and would only give the public a FALSE sense of security

He then said, weeks later only people with Covid should wear masks.

He originally stated that herd immunity would be reached at 70 percent. then 2 months ago, he "changed his MIND, not his science again" and suggested 80 or 85 percent due to "public concern".... which has nothing to do with science.

He has become a media celebrity, and abandoned any science quite some time ago.

He loves being in the spotlight, and left to him we will still be locked down 10 years from now.

DR. Fauci last year suggested that the general population not wear face masks because there were not enough available for first line medical personnel.  Once they were available, he advised that the public wear them.

 

As for herd immunity for the virus, he changed his estimate based on real world experience.
