libya 115
I went to Tuk Com today, and on the ground floor the DVD store Scorpion or 'Manpong' in Thai, (I think), is offering a good selection of original DVD's at 99 baht with a buy one get one free offer. So that's 49.5 Baht for an original good quality DVD. Fill your boots!

Scorpion DVD on the ground floor do not sell copies, only original DVD's. Those raids took place on the fourth floor where DVD copies are sold. Scorpion DVD store is on the ground floor on the right hand side when entering Tuk Com from Pattaya Tai.

libya 115
how recent are the movies that they are selling at that price then?? Obviously, they are not recent releases. But they are not ancient, they are two years old and more. I estimate that there are 200 movies at 99 baht. Something there for everyone.
jm49er1
Was up on the 4th floor yesterday and i will confirm that most of the shops were closed up and absolutely nothing was on display - i was looking for a CD for Photoshop - spoke to one guy whose small stall was open and was able to sell me the disc for 150 baht -
Mobi
Thanks Libya, I'll check it out. I was up on the 4th floor last week - everything shut and bolted. As soon as they saw 'high roller Mobi' appear, they rushed to unlock the shutters and give me a personal tour of their establishments - assuring me that they would 'protect me' in the event of a police raid. As I was browsing the wares, it was amazing how many farangs appeared out of the wood work and started buying everything in sight Obviously lurking in the shadows, awaiting my arrival. Twaz ever thus in LOS
libya 115
I visited the fourth floor (Tuk Com) yesterday, and went to 'Time' DVD store (copies). Business was as usual, except that all the box-sets on the walls were missing. I bought 'Hannibal Rising' good copy, but a totally crap film. I'll go back to the Scorpion DVD store and have a really good look at the two-for one offers again, and try and make a list (of the available movies) and post it here later. rak sa_ngop
Thanks for the tip. I bought some 2 for 99 baht DVDs here in Bangkok so it seems that this offer is available at all the 'Scorpion' outllets. I did not see all the titles you listed, but I am sure that they can be easily found as Mang Pong (เเมงป่อง) shops are located in nearly every shopping mall in Bangkok, and also on some skytrain stations. They are as common as cockroaches (maybe not scorpions).

Mobi
Hi Libya, Not wishing to disparage in any way - in fact I might go and have a looksie today myself, but a great majority of the titles you listed were on sale for 99 Baht at their branch in Ekami Major cinema complex some 2 years ago! I know because I bought most of them at the time. I guess someone over-ordered (or made?), and they've been trying to get rid of them ever since. It's horses for courses, but I thought that 'I am Sam' (I'm a huge fan of Sean Penn) and 'the Hours' were absolutely mind blowing.
