Cambodia. A record high 698 cases, 994 recoveries and six deaths, all in one day

Cambodia today reported the highest number of single day new COVID-19 cases and recoveries since the pandemic began in January last year, with 698 people testing positive, while 994 patients were released from the hospital yesterday.

 

Again, Phnom Penh logged the highest number of cases with 558 new COVID-19 positive cases, involving 557 Cambodians and one Chinese national.

It was followed by Kandal which confirmed 72 new cases (all Cambodians) and then Banteay Meanchey with 43 (28 Cambodians and 15 Indonesians).

 

Meanwhile, another 16 people, all Cambodians, tested positive for the coronavirus yesterday in Sihanoukville.

The rest the new cases are:

 
 

– 3 cases in Kampong Speu

– 3 cases in Takeo

– 2 cases in Pursat

 

– 1 imported case from Thailand (a 18-year-old Cambodian man who arrived in Banteay Meanchey on April 26)
