New restrictions in place in Chonburi, permission needed for travel out of province

As preventative measures are about to be increased in Chonburi, including in Pattaya, anyone wishing to travel outside of the province will need permission granted from the local district administration from Saturday (1 May).

Bangkok to inoculate 50,000 people per day, vaccinating 70% of its population

Bangkok plans to inoculate 70% of its inhabitants, at the rate of 50,000 people per day. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will set up 14 locations across the city, outside hospitals, starting June 1st.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand will next month receive another 3.5 million doses of Sinovac Biotech's coronavirus vaccine, a senior health official said on Friday, as the country seeks to shore-up supplies amid its biggest outbreak so far.

Parliament President Chuan Leekpai visits Phuket

PHUKET: President of the National Assembly of Thailand and incumbent Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives Chuan Leekpai arrived in Phuket today to be briefed on the outbreak situation on the island and to donate 10,000 items of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the officers stationed at the Phuket Check Point, where all arrivals onto the island by road are screened before being allowed into the province.

BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thailand on Saturday reported a new daily record of 21 coronavirus deaths in one day, the health ministry said, as the Southeast Asian country prepared to open registration for a long-awaited mass vaccination campaign.

PHUKET: The move to crack down on people not wearing face masks while in public was ratcheted up last night with Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew issuing an order to ramp up restrictions already imposed in Phuket to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
