2,432 COVID-19 Patients Are Discharged from BMA Hospitals

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) said on Sunday that 2,432 COVID-19 patients, being treated at hospitals under the BMA, have recovered and been discharged.

BANGKOK (NNT) - A study, by Chulalongkorn University’s Center of Excellence in Clinical Virology, has found that both the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines are helpful in stimulating immunity against COVID-19.

New COVID-19 Clusters Emerge in Chanthaburi and Chiang Mai Provinces

Chanthaburi - The Chanthaburi provincial public office said more than 109 gemstone traders, from Guinea, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire and Gambia in Africa, have tested positive for COVID-19 between 6 and 9 May in the province, although none carried the African or Indian variants of the virus.

First case of Indian COVID-19 variant detected in a Thai mother and her 4-year old son

The first case of the Indian COVID-19 variant, or B.1.617.1, has been found in Thailand, in a Thai family returning from Pakistan and in state quarantine, according to CCSA assistant spokesperson Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's industries sentiment in April hit its lowest in eight months after its biggest coronavirus outbreak struck, and the government should borrow 1 trillion baht ($32 billion) more to support the economy, an industries group said on Monday.

Chiang Mai University has closed down its field hospital, after all the patients, who were mostly students and university personnel, were discharged from the facility following treatment.

Thailand halts entry of foreigners from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal over virus variant

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Monday barred the entry of foreign nationals from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh in a bid to keep out the highly contagious variant of the coronavirus first found in India, its foreign ministry said.
