May 17, 20215 yr Hi, has anybody done a marriage extension say 2 weeks earlier than the due date, if so, do you 'lose' days on your next extension, or does it start from the expiry date of your original permission to stay?. I am aware that you can apply for extension no more than 30 days before your permission to stay ends, but i've read that certain immigration offices elsewhere in Thailand do the next extension from the day of application. Thanks Paul
May 17, 20215 yr Popular Post My experience in Phuket is that can apply 30 days before, and you lose no days. New stamp one year date after last stamp.
May 17, 20215 yr Last year I did a retirement extension 44 days before expiry. I told them that I was worried about a lock-down. It was a Friday and they gave me my passport back the same day. Phuket immigration will do it before 30 day due, but I think you have to have a valid reason that they will be satisfied with. No days lost. Same date as before.

The only occasions when an extension expiry date would change is if changing from one extension type to another (i.e. retirement to marriage or vice versa). The extension would then apply from the date of application. Another is if your passport will expire before the end of a twelve months extension. In that case the extension will expire on the passport expiry date.
