CHIANG MAI, May 17 (TNA) – The biggest cluster of inmates with COVID-19 is at the Chang Mai Central Prison in the northern province where as many as 3,929 inmates had the disease.

Local authorities including Chiang Mai governor Charoenrit Sa-nguansat and Maj Gen Thanatpol Kosaisewi, deputy commander of the Third Army, confirmed the figures while insisting that the situation was under control despite the high number of infections at the prison thanks to systematic and efficient medical services.

Maj Gen Thantpol said that in the worst-case scenario, 2,500 other inmates were at-risk people and could be all infected.

COVID has been in Thailand for a year, and are we supposed to be surprised that prisoners in the jails have

not been infected by COVID until now.  Well PM and Thai government and jail warden and staff, you all dropped the

ball.  What are you going to do now?   Oh yeah,  you could maybe now, think of vaccines for all those who work and

live in the prisons.  Forward thinking.   right!

Geezer

Herd immunity... once they all had it, problem solved. Honestly,  what else can you do in overcrowded prisons?

The prison staff will get infected and spread it outside the prison. Too late to quarantine them, I guess.
