Latest status on trips to the East (Hotels and day trips)

I wonder what the current situation is for people interested in taking a night or two somewhere along the Eastern seaboard, or even a day trip. Is it possible? Are there hotels and restaurants open? I'm just thinking about an escape from my apartment. Any comments welcome.

No problem in driving regularly from Bangkok to Rayong near to which I have animals who need food and water to be replenished. Koh Samet has re-opened, while the Rayong Resort Hotel remains open, and all major stores are open.
