Thailand's chief of immigration Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang sought to reassure the public after a video garnered widespread interest on social media.

 

The video showed a large IB Investigation Division truck apparently carrying deportees along Viphavadee Road from the Ladprao five way intersection to Din Daeng. 

 

There were fears this would lead to more Covid-19 spread as the detainees were packed in and there appeared to be few precautions.

Sompong told INN that these were all illegal immigrants who had tested negative for the virus. 

 

They were being transported before being deported back to their home countries and there was nothing for the public to worry about.

Just like there was nothing to worry about in the prisons. And just like the ThongLor cluster was under control. 

This government seems to be barely functioning at the moment, if at all. 

Forget about the Covid for a moment, what he is saying is that it is apparently OK to pack prisoners in to the wagon at levels that would be considered inhumane were it livestock being transported. That kind of sums up how Thais consider their neighbours.

Disgusting way to treat anybody, but hey there not Thai so what the hell.

If they get covid, we dont care, they will not be in our country, but their own country.

As they are 'Aliens' surely they must be sending them back to their own Planets !

If they were coming back to my country I'd want a new covid test done in front of me before accepting them back

The government is allowing this to happen.

 

Transport such as this is inhumane outside of Covid-19 times. With barely trustable police force, outbreaks throughout prisons, do we really believe that all those holed up in abhorrent conditions in IDC are tested at all ?

 

This highlights complete disregard Thai’s hold for the wellbeing anyone outside their ‘circle’ and the total disregard they hold for non-Thai’s.

 

 

My biggest concern is if the van itself is involved in an accident.

Yep some of these Thais make people like Gorbels, Stalin and Idi Amin look like angels, its just that they have not been prosecuted yet for abuse of human rights.
