Well it is not that for me, … I do believe in Modern Technology, and feel quite likely to get the slop. … Before ? … … Someone makes a mistake ? … Like pulls the fuse in the Auto Pilots Avionic out ! … To stop the rudder alarm from continually going off in a Thunder storm, …. So the Auto Pilot, and Avionics shuts down, !!!  …  And the Plane gets out of control in the thunderstorm, …  and becomes impossible to fly, …… and then crashes in to the Sea !!! … (Air Asia, out of Jakarta ? on it’s way to Singapore or Thailand ? … Some time ago) …

 

But well the real problem that REALLY takes me out, just Dirt Anxiety Wise !!! … Is when the “Good Little” Scheismic contracting company, that you are flying to work for, … has not booked the flights properly !!!  and you have to pull your Visa card, to get on to it to start off with ?, … If you have a big enough Credit Limit to do that, that is ! ? …

 

... Or your flights get delayed and you miss a connection, and then get stranded about half way !!! … and you cannot contact your company, so just defiantly sleep on the seats … if you can find one not occupied by another Hippie Back Packer !!! (Like yourself) …

 

… Or they have only given you 1 hr. to get through Customs and Immigration in L.A. before you next Flight, and everyone knows it takes about double to do that, … on a good day !!! …

 

Or you were drunk, and accidentally / defiantly, stuck your Luggage tag, on top of you American Visa, … and when they pulled it off, half of the Visas Expiry date came out with it !!! … So you end up in the Tank !!! … (Immigration Detention) in Huston, .. Beautifully set with Locked door, but windows all around, so that every one walking past towards the Luggage belts, can see you inthere !!! ... With the Arabs Hispanics, ...  and the odd Very Real “Police Drama” of a Pedophile being hauled over the coals, indignantly lying of course, going on !!! … as they try to confiscate his passport …. A White guy, so he takes up ALL of the Write officers !!! …

 

And Officer Obey (From the Alice's Restaurant Movie) is there, Goose stepping around, and watching the door … and looking for ANY way to be Uncaring and abusive towards you …

 

And the Black officers …  (As the White officers are all busy with the Pedophile) ... Just … Pick the file … With … your Passport … in it … Off the top of the pile !!! … ... Slowly, ... Very Slowly !!! ....  open it … Look at your Photo … See that you are white … and then … Slowly, close it, ... replace the passport ... In the file … and slowly … Put it back on the pile … …  and take the next one down Out !!! …. ... And this happens several times, until you demand a Phone call and phone up the shipping agent, and start to lament about holding your ship up !!! .... And he just, very wisely, …  asks for their Phone Number !!!

Liek "Ohhh Myyy Gotttt"  "Oh Yooooo" .... "It is YOUUU" !!! he exclaimed !!! ... Incredulously !!! ... ... Jumped down, ... Garbed his bag !!! and checked out !!! .... Like nice to be remembered right !!! ... 

 

(Or the old house dorm, in Sanokvill in Cambodia where this group of fellows snuck in late, after the clubs, and flopped down in to their beds in the dark !!! ... But well one of the Soi dogs !!! ...and a BIG one ! had snuck in, in the dark just before that ... and got in to one of their beds first !!! ... Har Har Ha !!! ... Barry Humphries apparently got himself banned from one airline by surreptitiously emptying a sachet of mixed vegetables into said brown paper bag, then eating out of it. A flight attendant reacted badly, by throwing up herself at the sight. Google is your friend, he's an Australian institution.

I had a nine-hour flight from Melbourne to Bangkok with a nuff-nuff in the window seat, I always take the aisle seat. He wanted to get out and walk the aisle every five minutes, ADHD.

Another flight I remember was a non-stop from Melbourne to Los Angeles, in the days when smoking was still permitted on aircraft. The guy in the seat in front of me chain-smoked all the way, about 18 hours IIRC.

Or the guy on a flight from Tokyo to Amsterdam who had a loud one-hour conversation with his buddy in Houston about how they were going to corner the market on oil futures, just to show the rest of the  passengers, who were trying to sleep,  how important he was.

Don't have a problem with flying or the aircraft, just some moronic passengers.

Well it Was a very short Flight ! ? ... And I do think that let it all just Rip, in short flights is OK, .. Up to a point, ..  like the point of politeness, which ALWAYS should apply. ...

Like some short flights are quite Bizarre, ...  just starting off from the Aircraft them selves ! ? ... and the Companies that operate them !!! ...  And well helicopter flights ? out to the ships, platforms or the rigs ... Re the Rooster notes about the Lada airline crash and subsequent looting, I would like to relate my alternate experience, I fell on Sukhumvit road Bangkok and woke up in hospital with a broken arm. A charity organization apparently helped me and took me to the hospital, my wallet, money, credit cards, gold neck chain, totally intact. I am so grateful for their help, integrity and honesty, I will never forget this act of kindness.

Flights - Yes, well I was, probably really REALLY out of order on the short flight with the French Guy, (As described in Humor above) ... and well also once after that with an Australian Volunteer woman from Nepal, who was !!! ??? Well very VERY stressed herself … so I should have noticed !!! ... But well 2 flights, out of Hundreds ... and I do remember many MANY More, where I suitable entertained the People ! … And got very VERY Favorable feedback, as well as some really REALLY good stories from them also !!! ..

 

Like the Positives of Flights, like sometimes you can Luck out and it is really REALY GOOD !!! ....

I am the airline hostess's dream, I only have one glass of wine on any flight. I eat the pabulum served up as food in time for their collection. I never use the call button to summon, if I need something I go to them.

Believe it or not, in my younger days before I got old and ugly I had several hit on me. Never took them up, unfortunately.

I don't really care if I never fly again, I enjoy my scooter much more.

At  one  time Emirates  used to give me a free  ticket from UK  To BAngkok for every 4-5  th trip, not  anymore.

The  employees became  worse, less  attentive and combining the lot it  became krap, after years using Emirates I dumped them.

My first flight was from Stansted Airport in 1964 Swiss Air, I was 13yrs old, spent the flight trying to keep warm as cold air was coming in through the emergency door seal, that I was sat next to, fortunately my knowledge of aircraft safety was zero at the time.

  I have made many flights around the world, a lot of domestic in OZ with tool box on board for work, but now it's just boredom and wouldn't want to fly again, Done all the travel I need thanks unless it's me behind the wheel or on a train.

Hey Rooster, I do miss flying, as it is the only way I can travel to Asia, unless I want to spend 2 to 3 months on some ship just to get there.  I worked at many airports over my 33 year career, and though I never became a pilot, I did enjoy quite a few flights on smaller airplanes, like the Cessna 185, 206s as well as the Twin Otter DHC6 and Beaver DHC2 and the Dash 7s and Dash 8s. Favorite airline jet was the Boeing B747, however the B787 dream liner is a nice quiet jet to fly on. I do want to fly on the B737 max some day as it is a real performer and should be around for a lot more years.  Flying in economy plus or business class is a nice upgrade from the standard basic cattle section.

  In Thailand I have enjoyed flying with both Bangkok air, Thai Air and their domestic version, and enjoyed all my flights.

   I have also enjoyed travelling by train from Bangkok to Chang Mai as well as to the south to Hat Yai. both long trips were quite enjoyable, but most of my travels are by the buses, large ones are preferred as the small ones are just scary. I hope to get over this COVID pandemic and return to Thailand someday. Good luck to you and all of Thailand hope you can get the 2 vaccine shots of your choice soon.
