A Suan Dusit poll conducted from Monday to Thursday last week asked questions related to Thais' "State of Mind in the Covid-19 era".

There were 1,713 people polled.

It emerged that 75.35% were suffering high anxiety and stress.

Almost as many - 72.95% - reported despair.

A few less - 58.27% - complained of feeling "ngut ngit" - irritable.

Why was this?

88.33% cited the spread of Covid.

74.53% mentioned the state of the economy and difficulty making ends meet.

So what to do to cope with the worry?

91.03% said to be careful and aware

60.82% said they needed to understand the measures required

What did they want to happen to lower all that stress?

74.96% cited the need for the vaccine rollout to happen

60.52% begged all those in charge in the government and private sector to address the needs of the economy

In their interpretation of the finer points of the data, Daily News said that four out of 100 Thais were at their wits end.

Seems (from another thread today) that there are a large number of petrified and over anxious Americans in Thailand too. At least they aren't also penniless and worried about having no income, like so many Thais.

Worried about day to day life is an issue that covers all folks unfortunately.  Knowing where the next meal will come from and how to pay for it while unemployed is another.  Governments need to do a better job in caring for all of their citizens

They must be those people that I see out there wearing two masks lmao.

Good luck to those people. I get the feeling they are gonna need it.

And who can blame them !

Well especially as its the governments causing most of these problems   by shutting down ways for ordinary people to make a living, destroying small business along with hopes and dreams   leaving no way for people to provide for themself and families ????     the only place left to turn is "the government"  for handouts of their own ( Tax payers) money

it would be funny if it wasn't so sad !!

Well 60 % maybe. If stats hold true abroad then about 40% in the US think the pandemic is a hoax.

Does the vaccine flip flopping make you manic depressant?

Yes: 99.9%

Covid + Debt , two problems that must be making people really

depressed, and at this time both linked,

How is that "ALL THAIS" ???   LOL

Thai's aren't the only ones.

I too be worried seeing the shambolic amateurish ways the Thai government handles this vaccinations issues with no clear direction as what to do next...

First step would be to stay away from the media, which has a huge role in this madness : "heighest numbers so far", "positivity procent up from 0.9 to 1.2%", and all those fear mongering news.

Besides that, a perverse regime, who perpetuated this paranoia.

My wife was <deleted> terrified about Corona and still is, despite she is not at risk.

I don't deny Corona, it is among us, it is potentially deadly for some of us, but many have used this crisis.

Government can not be blamed for the collapse of tourism that has caused wide disruption to the Thai economy.

Government can be blamed for the slow vaccination program that is essential for getting foreigners to return .

The other 25% have a sustainable bank balance and are not financially worried.

These polls mean nothing.

Other 25% must have an extraordinary low IQ

You get those everywhere. Flat earth types that also poo poo climate. Sadly quite a few on here... you know who you are.

Feel esp sorry for Thais since they have an utter waste of space government that can’t be removed.
