As schools across the country are scheduled to reopen for this year’s first semester on 14th June, provincial and educational authorities are working to ensure sufficient health and safety measures are in place to secure the wellbeing of students.

But no vaccination programme for teachers or kids.

For 133 boarding schools in Chiang Mai, the provincial educational office requires all 8,809 students, teachers, and school personnel to serve a 14-day quarantine prior to the school opening. Parents are urged to monitor the symptoms of their children once school starts.

Quarantine where, while at home in contact with everyone?

How the hell is that going to work?

Unbelievable.

Schools must arrange class schedules in a staggered time pattern to reduce crowding,

How is that going to work

I cannot but presume that the beaurocratic rising star who thought that one up has ever worked in a school!

There are lots of rumours swirling around ( here in Chiang Rai anyway) that the schools may not reopen on the 14th. The students line groups are warning them to expect further online learning, and I have been warned that I may have to teach online for a few weeks...

I Agree that the kids need to go back to School,... But... But.. You should have vacciated the Teacher & staff before the kids return... Everything is <deleted> about face in this Country.

Our Thai teachers were vaccinated 2 weeks ago....no foreign teacher yet. Just make sure the parents know of this situation. They will NOT wan't their kids back at school under those circumstances.

Please, please, please - Bangkok too.

Our online class schedule is written in until the end of June. I'm not confident we will be opening by mid month, as the cases have stagnated at around 2500 cases. We were off for a whole month last year with 0 daily cases for that whole month. It sucks for this kids as much as anyone else.

I'm a teacher at an International school in Bangkok & there's been no indication we'll open soon. End of year exams are online as well as evidence for IGCSE & A level. People forget that in all of 2020 there were 5000 positive cases. We now get that in a day or 2.
