Cambodia and Thailand to control transnational crimes

Featured Replies

Cambodia and Thailand will take all proactive measures to curb transnational criminal activities, including organised crimes which can pose a threat to national security. Royal Cambodian Armed Forces general command unit commander Lieutenant Colonel Chan Sokhon who led the meeting with his Thai counterpart Colonel Bunsim Boonrung  at Phnom Ta Thao Preah Vihear province on Tuesday discussed several issues including transnational crimes and illegal border crossings.

During the meeting, Col Sokhon and Col Boonrung had committed to combating all forms of crimes including illicit trafficking of people, illegally crossing the border, drug trafficking, and illegal transportation of goods and animals.

Representatives from the Cambodian side had also asked their counterparts during the meeting to jointly help stop the spread of Covid-19 along the borders of both countries, illegal felling of trees and stop illegal border crossings.
