Having the correct Translate Extension Active

 - renders Facebooks (very Selective) Translate functions  obsolete ????

I use all three sometimes, the one above, Edge own built in translator and Google.

I was wondering why I can't see thai translation on my fb..so it's not only me.. here I found a solution, you can open your fb on chrome just use the old version mbasic.facebook.com to log in.. then when you're in the post of your friend using thai language just click translate English, you will see it appear automatically at the screen..

yes, looks quite clinically uncluttered and easy to navigate ????    Is it a mobile phone version?

Instagram is similarly disabled.

I think the most recent faux pas was on IG.

But not tiktok, and as that is Chinese no pressure from the Thais will ever change that.

It's pathetic....how thin skinned do you have to be?? The only way to improve the service - and it has improved - is to continue with it using the translations etc to build on.

as already said, why not simply Enable your Browser Translate Page Extension...   Facebook etc know they don't even need to get up off their bums to do anything about this... besides the Browser Extension Translate page function does a better job anyway at translation accuracy

Firstly I shouldn't have to and it doesn't work as selectively as the FB translate facility,

But I think you miss the point - this is a political act by the military based government of Thailand. They currently have blocked over 160,000 web sites and a large number on the basis of the draconian, questionable and outdated Lese Majeste laws.  They are making international fools of themselves as are FB by complying. Without  doubt this cannot continue.

... and the Extension sticks it up their noses...

I leave the Page Translate ON... and all languages are handle on auto there after...

 - having to manually select the FBk translate on every single Post as required, is a waste of energy

doesn't matter the Device... it's all done inside your Browser...

 - Settings / Extensions

 Download and then Activate it

It goes into the Bar at top, and Clicking on it opens up the mode

 - I click on the Translate page mode... and can leave it aON fpor as long as you like, and the Whole Page Auto translates any language into yours...

I used to always keep Chrome alive due to its great Translate Extension...

 - anyways I am using Edge a  lot now, and just now can confirm the Edge Google Chrome Extension works fine opn Facebook pages withn Thai script...     In trhe Extension Store, I current;y using the extension shown below:

Thanks for the Edge Translate tip. That works well.

I can't seem to get right-click translation to work in Chrome, for the Thai language on Facebook for comments/replies to a topic. he comments briefly flash in English then revert back to Thai. It works fine for other pages, and other languages.

Can you explain what "Edge Google Chrome Extension" is? And a link? Thanks.

go tpo your Edge's Settings

go to Extensions

see where it says to Get Extensions:

and once there, Select to Search for 'Translate'

image.png.e2ad06bd9b517e05e80d6b76336b21c3.png

you'll notice I already have it (at the bottom)

therefore will see this after its been Installed:

image.png.97abbd3be6518e521f149e14c2e709e9.png

now on that same page, now look up to the bar at top right to see the Edge Translate Extension Blue Symbol...

Click on that and now see this page below:

image.png.04229d487c7d8f0e6c091653f76a3fd0.png

what you want for FaceBook translating use,

 - is top Click on the "Google Page Trans..."

You actually Force it to only look for Thai if you wish?

 - otherwise leave it on Auto:

now let's Test it out. Trying on a Thai Dhamma page example:

First see the Page as Original:

image.png.575083e1d5e948ced80dcf55019b99eb.png

and see the mix of Thai and English Script

NOW Activate the Page Translate Extension,

by Click same top right blue symbol

image.png.d6b1f001b2b4aeba5498b65ef86cbd14.png

 and see result below:

The Thai Scipt all now Disp[lays in English...

 - also Note that whi;lst the Extension is Activated. see that new Grey Status Bar

image.png.8cfc86c3efd83ca29fa1d1a5d1d617a8.png

simple as that

You can simply leave the Extension Activate, and can instead Toggle the Page Translate ON'n'OFF
