Driving to Trat

I made a lot of enquiries about this same trip. I have Thai friends who have houses there. I also have a house there. The consensus seemed to be, if you intend to stay in a hotel, you will need a recent PCR test and a travel permit. Whether it's true or not, who knows. As for road checks they seem to be nonexistent except maybe a temperature check. And for foreigners it's never straight forward. One of my Thai friends actually got a test in Trad hospital for 550 THB. I doubt that option is available to foreigners.

Inter-provincial travel..... as usual it's soooo confusing! There is supposedly a form to be filled in available from the Thai Center For Disease Control website. You go there - nothing. My wife tried the Thai language site (which had LOADS more info) - nothing. Check out the video, it's nothing short of useless:

I made a hotel booking for Trat yesterday through Agoda.

Today I got a few emails back. Hotel requests either a negative PCR test, done over the last 72 hours or prove of being vaccinated.

I cancelled the reservation.
