Popular Post BKKTRAVELER
I know this is not visa related, but still concern the Phuket and future sandboxes. So, I just read on the Phuket news that after 1 foreign tourist tested positive after entering Phuket, 12 other tourists have been taken away from their SHA hotel, to an ALQ hotel. Apparently they were deemed high risks, I don't know if it was because they sat in the plane same area or were family related. Thing is... They have to pay for that ALQ hotel! So, on top of making the efforts to come here, mostly financially, they still have to pay for that despite their Covid insurance?? I mean, can't hospitals take them since they have insurance and that cases in Phuket are quite low? That seems insane to me... Like really, welcome to Thailand! Also, all of them have asked to fly back home, obviously... I don't think they'll ever come back. What a circus, if it comes out in international news, this will end the scheme, period. Edit: it turns out only 14 people flew on this flight. 1 Tested positive, 13 in ALQ, 12 asked to go home, if they do that with high volume flights, it will end in disaster Edited July 9, 2021 by BKKTRAVELER

Everyone applying for the scheme should be very clearly alerted of that detail before being approved for COE. Amazing Thailand indeed
codemonkey
This entire over-hyped phuket idiot box catastrophe was doomed from the start and nothing more than an amateur attempt at propagandist approach to promoting tourism that totally failed as the country sinks deeper into the grip of delta and mired in ineptness! Very sad, but so pathetic and predictable.
RubbaJohnny
Looks odd , surely they were required to have insurance to enter, if this does not incude enforced ALQ I think it'll deter actual tourist rather than expats who jus need any means to reunite with family.
