The Ministry of Labour said on Wednesday that it is unable to conduct Covid-19 tests in sealed up construction worker camps because the Bangkok Governor’s office will not give it the necessary permission.

Speaking to MCoT TV, Minister of Labour Suchart Chomklin said that the governor’s office was actively preventing authorities from doing active case findings because people inside the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) would not be able to handle the increase in cases.

“The governor Asawin (Kwanmuang) needs to listen to health experts,” Suchart said in the interview. “If you look at the provinces surrounding Bangkok, you would see that there are no mega clusters because we are allowed to test and introduce the necessary precautions.”

Let the foreign workers locked in camps be ravaged by covid-19 and/or starve so the numbers look good. Sounds like crimes against humanity. I hope the world takes notice and at least puts added stipulations on donated vaccines. Barbaric.
