The suggestions for using a debit card make sense but I'd need a debit card that is accepted as a Visa or Mastercard.

Most debit cards are Visa or Mastercard are they not?

or deposit money in bank and use as collateral. i use my 800,000 baht for both a visa credit card and master card credit card. must be paid in full every month. automatically withdrawn. Bangkok bank.

Both cards work great for everything.

When did you do that? I am currently being asked for work permit even for the backed cards. I went to many branches.

It could be a branch that does do that or maybe they have phased it out for non work permit holders?

Back to my original post.  This is about Credit Cards and not about other methods of payment like bank xfers to Lazada.
I have other reasons to get a Visa or Mastercard.

Good luck with getting one from a Thai bank. I required a cc some years ago and got a western one 'Capital' and limited the credit on it. I suspect your employment status and income here will be a determining factor in being offered a credit card.
